The Seaside and Country Homes scheme, delivered by housingmoves on behalf of Communities and Local Government, offers eligible Londoners the chance to consider bungalows and flats across the south and east of England in rural and seaside resorts.
If you are a registered social landlord and have tenants who are aged 60 or above who are currently living in a social housing in London who do not have rent arrears or a history of anti-social behaviour then, once you have approved their application, they are likely to be eligible for the scheme.
If your tenants are successful in getting a move then they will free up much needed social housing in your area that can then be used to house a family from your housing register or transfer list thus contributing towards making better use of your stock.
Seaside and Country Homes properties are managed by Housing Associations and rents are often set lower than London levels. Our bungalows have private gardens; our flats often have communal areas. Most of our properties are in peaceful, purpose built developments and are ideal for single people or couples who have retired or wish to do so.
There is a variety of resources available:
Our promotional leaflets can be downloaded and printed off to use at your local housing offices.
Lawn is a landlord referral scheme, delivered by housingmoves, that, in partnership with Communities and Local Government, aims to help social tenants move from one part of the UK to another.
The Lawn scheme aims to build on existing good practice. Each local council may run its own similar scheme, not necessarily called "Lawn".
