Information for existing applicants - Seaside & Country Homes
This page is for customers who have already registered for the Seaside & Country Homes scheme.
If you have not registered for the scheme please read the section below: Who can apply and how.
Seaside & Country Homes' properties are offered to the applicants who currently live in the biggest homes. This is to help us free up family sized properties for homeless and overcrowded families living in London.
Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a move to everyone who registers. Demand for Seaside & Country Homes is greater than we can meet. However we are speaking to landlords in order to increase the number of areas we can offer our customers and the number and type of properties available.
You can choose to be considered for up to nine areas and we also hold a list for customers who would like to be considered for all areas. If you would like to discuss your application, amend or add more areas to your current choices or be considered for the "any area" list then please contact the housingmoves team on 08450 21 20 20.

What to consider
Moving away from London and giving up a secure home is a big step. If you decide to apply and, if offered a property, decide to move, it will be extremely difficult to return to a Council or Housing Association property in London. Social housing in the capital is in great demand.
Who can apply and how
Key Application Criteria:
- Open to households living in Council or Housing Association housing in Greater London.
- One member of the household must be aged 60 or above.
- Applicants need to be nominated by their landlord.

- Applicants need to choose properties from the Property Notes PDF (1.2MB) and complete an Application Form PDF (253KB) and post it to:

When completing the form it is important to complete all relevant questions. Applicants are advised to select as many areas that they are interested in moving to as possible so as to increase the chance of a move. Look at the Property section to find the areas where there are Seaside & Country Homes.
Important: we are unable to accept applications for Seaside & Country Homes from households where all members are younger than 60 years of age or where the lead applicant does not currently live in social housing. This scheme does not guarantee you a move and priority is given to tenants who are giving up larger sized properties.
