This page contains information for landlords wishing to participate in the Seaside & Country Homes scheme.
The Seaside & Country Homes scheme, delivered by housingmoves on behalf of Communities and Local Government, offers eligible Londoners the chance to consider bungalows and flats across the south and east of England in rural and seaside resorts.
If you are a registered social landlord and have tenants who are aged 60 or above who are currently living in a social housing in London and who do not have rent arrears or a history of anti-social behaviour then, once you have approved their application, they are likely to be eligible for the scheme.
If your tenants are successful in getting a move then they will free up much needed social housing in your area that can then be used to house a family from your housing register or transfer list.
Seaside & Country Homes properties are managed by Housing Associations and rents are often set lower than London levels. The bungalows often have private gardens; the flats often have communal areas. Most of our properties are in peaceful, purpose built developments and are ideal for single people, or couples who have retired or wish to do so.
If you would like to discuss how Seaside & Country Homes could benefit your customers and help you make the most appropriate use of your housing stock please contact Stephen Ellis, Seaside & Country Homes Manager:
