Housingmoves: a fresh start in a new home

Seaside and beach huts, representing Seaside & Country Homes housingmoves helps social housing tenants living in London to find alternative accommodation through the Lawn scheme (which is open to all) and the Seaside & Country Homes scheme (for households where the eldest member is 60 years of age or older).

The choices available for social tenants who wish to move are not the same as for those in other tenancies. If you have more space than you need, then housingmoves may be able to help you find a more suitable home. The housingmoves services are delivered by Communities and Local Government (CLG) in partnership with London Councils.

Seaside & Country Homes

This scheme offers people who are aged 60 and over and living in Council or Housing Association housing in Greater London the opportunity to move.

Seaside & Country Homes has one and two-bedroom properties across the country from Lincolnshire in the east all the way around the coast to Devon and Cornwall in the South West. We can also help households to find properties in rural areas inland.

Lawn Scheme

Lawn is a landlord referral scheme that aims to help households move out of the London area. Contact your local housing office to register your interest in moving and to see if they run a Lawn scheme. Please note: your council may not call their scheme "Lawn" but they may run a similar type of service.
