Warminster is a former market town in West Wiltshire. The ancient site of Stonehenge is close by and Warminster is perhaps most famous for the UFO sightings that occurred in the area in the 1960s and 70s. The town's historical roots can be traced back before the Saxon Age and the Iron Age hill fort Battlesby Camp is popular with visitors. The town is surrounded by countryside and the nearby Wylye Valley is often described as "one of Britain's best kept secrets".
Westbury dates back many years and is named in The Domesday Book of 1086. It is home to the famous Westbury White Horse, carved into the chalk face of the Salisbury Plain. The town's modern day activities tend to be based around the historic Market Place.
