Birchington

Picture of a property.Birchington-on-Sea is a village in north east Kent and is a notable tourist and retirement destination. It has several sandy beaches and a golf course. Nearby Minnis Bay is a family beach resort and is surrounded by chalk cliffs, stacks and caves. Birchington is also home to the Powell-Cotton Museum and the All Saints Church.

Canterbury

Picture of a property.The city of Canterbury, on the River Stour, is a World Heritage Site, famous for its narrow cobbled streets and appearances in classic literature from Dickens to Chaucer. It is also home to Kent Cricket Club, several parks and open spaces, two universities and the world famous Canterbury Cathedral. It has a thriving city centre which has been recently developed; there are regular markets and dozens of pubs and restaurants across the city.

Deal (Walmer)

Picture of a property.The neighboring towns of Deal and Walmer lie on the coast of the English Channel between Dover and Ramsgate and can boast a view of France on clear days. It is claimed that Julius Caesar landed on the coast here between 55 and 54bc. Fortunately it is a quieter resort now! Deal came first in the Daily Telegraph’s “10 top spots to lay your beach towel” competition and was praised for being “the genuine Georgian article”.

Faversham

Picture of a property.Faversham is a charming historic market town nestled between the Downs and the marshes of Kent, the town is a lovely modern community and a heritage treasure. It was recently voted best market town in Kent. It is packed with places of interest from country houses and gardens to the UK’s oldest brewery.

Folkestone

Picture of PropertyFolkestone, on the south east coast, was described by Charles Dickens as “one of the prettiest watering places on earth”; it benefits from cobbled streets, wide leafy avenues, period architecture, colourful gardens and sandy beaches. There is a wide promenade with fully utilised bandstand and impressive flower arrangements as well as a wide selection of restaurants, pubs and taverns.
