Dovercourt is a small seaside town located close to Harwich rich in Viking, Saxon, Roman, and Civil War history. It offers a wide range of attractions for visitors including 5 miles of walks of Blue Flag beach walks (indicating its cleanliness and safety for families with children).
Across the way, on the opposite side of the mouth of the Stour, lies historic Landguard Fort, a great place to explore along with miles of classic Constable countryside.
Elmstead Market is a small village located just six miles away from Colchester and three miles from Wivenhoe.
Frinton on Sea retains an atmosphere of the 1920s when it was one of the most exclusive resorts in Britain. Tree-lined avenues lead down to an elegant esplanade and cliff-top and Frinton is also home to a quiet, secluded sandy beach.
Holland on Sea is a seaside town just a short walk from Clacton and located south of Great Holland.
The village of St. Osyth is, in terms of annual rainfall, the driest part of the UK.
Walton on the Naze is a family seaside resort with long sandy beaches, seafront gardens and narrow streets. Its pier is the second longest in England. To the north of the town is The Naze, an unspoilt headland of heath, salt marshes and more beaches.
