The county of Suffolk shares borders with Essex to the south, Cambridgeshire to the west, Norfolk to the north and the North Sea coastline runs along the east.
Suffolk is largely low-lying and is notable for having very few hills. The Broads run through the north of the county and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths are an Area of Outstanding Beauty, as designated by the Countryside Agency.
The largest town in the area is Ipswich which is served by rail links between London and Norwich.
