The county of Kent is in south east England. It borders the River Thames and North Sea to the north and the English Channel to the south. It also shares a nominal boundary with France in the Channel Tunnel, although above the ground France is actually 21 miles away across the Strait.
Known as "The Garden of England" it is a county steeped in history and it is an area much sought after by Seaside & Country Homes registrants. The main city in Kent is Canterbury, 90 minutes away from London and, alongside Ashford, the focal point of most transport links to the area.
Kent boasts lavender fields, orchards, vineyards and oast houses as well as galleries and theatre and Michelin-starred dining. It is also awash with gardens, steam railways, castles and cathedrals.
